Q: How long is your program?
A: Our program is 24 weeks (576 hours) of instructional time.
Q: When are classes?
A: Classes run Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. We have two intake sessions per year, one in September and one in March.
Q: How much does your program cost?
A: Our tuition is $25, 450.00 CAD + GST.
Q: What funding options are available to me?
A: If you are a resident of Alberta, you can apply for Alberta and Canada student loans to help cover the cost of tuition. Depending on your situation, you may also be eligible for scholarships and grants from various providers of post secondary funding. You can also apply RESP contributions to cover the cost of tuition and books. Additionally, most banks have student lines of credit that you may be eligible for. Our staff is here to help you navigate these resources and find suitable funding options for you.

Q: What do you teach?
A: We start from the ground up beginning with sound arts 101 (acoustics, studio design, the physics of sound, studio equipment, and much more). We then move on to more advanced modules for music production, post production, and game audio.
Q: Where can I buy my Pro Tools system?
A: No need to worry! We buy the software and hardware for you. This is included in your tuition.
Q: Is your program accredited?
A: Yes. Our program is recognized as an accredited Private Vocational Training Facility by the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada.
Q: What credential is awarded to be upon completion?
A: You receive a Diploma in Audio Engineering and Production Arts.
Q: What if I didn’t graduate high school?
A: A high school diploma is not a requirement to attend our program. Willingness to learn, a positive attitude, any previous experience in the industry, and a strong work ethic are highly valued here at APRA. However, students with strong academic backgrounds tend to achieve high levels of success in our program.
Q: I know I need to provide my own computer, what type of computer should I get?

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located at 619 11th Avenue SE in Calgary, Alberta. We work out of The Beach studios located in the same building.
