PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: AUDIO ENGINEERING & PRODUCTION ARTS
Do you have an interest in the entertainment industry? Do you love music, movies, TV and radio? Are you a “behind the scenes” type of person?
The APRA diploma program prepares graduates to enter the world of sound with the knowledge to succeed in various settings and roles within the entertainment sector.
Designed by music business experts, the program exposes students to demanding professional situations, production expertise and real-world attitudes and challenges. APRA is not a hobby course, bargain project studio operation or community college look-a-like, but an industry active, hands on program.
The six month, full-time program includes an advanced variety of modules including a introduction to sound arts, sound arts gear, sound arts recording, music and business, music production, post-production, and game audio.
Various projects are assigned and executed using analog and digital recording techniques, including the use of the recording industry standard software Pro-Tools.
Over the course of six months, students will spend time in a classroom setting for lectures as well as many hours working in a variety of studios. By the end of the program the students will have learned how to conduct themselves in a professional recording studio, using the gear and techniques that they need to run a successful session.
By working on a variety of projects, the student will build a substantial portfolio of work that will help them to enter the industry, and to have a strong breadth of knowledge in each area of audio.
Entertainment is an amazing industry with equally amazing people who work behind the scenes to make quality content that the rest of the world demands and enjoys.
We invite you to enjoy the APRA experience, and become part of the action!
